Senior Data Engineer

About the job:

ProofLabs is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team. This remote position involves leading data engineering efforts on financial projects, focusing on data architecture, pipeline development, and advanced analytics.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines.
• Architect and optimize data storage solutions for high-performance access and analysis.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data quality and accessibility.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes to integrate diverse data sources.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure performance and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.

Your Experience:

• Extensive experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Proficiency with SQL and experience with NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
• Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data engineering tools (e.g., Airflow, Kafka).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, managing tasks and priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Proficiency in German is an advantage.
